Steven Crutchfield is chief executive officer of NYSE Amex options. He was appointed to that position on April 14, 2010. [1][2][3][4]

Background

Crutchfield was previously chief operating officer at Matlock Capital LLC (founded by Blair Hull) where he supervised all trading, quantitative research and systems work from 2004 through 2009. At Matlock, he focused on the development and implementation of fully-automated options, equities, and futures strategies with an emphasis on high-frequency trading, volatility forecasting and market making.

Before joining Matlock, Crutchfield was managing director of the research and development group at Botta Capital Management. There, he oversaw the development of trading models and technology for both internal and external use, including an index volatility arbitrage model and an options portfolio management system still in use today. Before that, he launched and directed Botta’s off-floor options trading desk and its equity risk arbitrage business.

Education

Crutchfield holds a masters of business administration in econometrics and analytic finance from the University of Chicago, an masters of science in computer science from Stanford University, and a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the Johns Hopkins University.[6]
