David T. Johnston
Johnson was a member of the National Futures Association's (NFA) initial board of directors. At the time, he was chief of E.F. Hutton Futures. He began his career with E.F. Hutton in 1969. He then spent 1987 – 1994 with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he handled institutional accounts including some of the largest banks, pension funds and investment companies on the West Coast. In 1994, he returned to Smith Barney and was joined by his son, Damon, in 1998 to form The Johnson Group. In 2007, he joined Merrill Lynch alongside the entire Johnson Group.
He is an alumni of the University of Minnesota.
