The Insurance Futures Exchange (IFX) was an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of the Climate Exchange plc. It is a market for exchanged traded, cleared and margined insurance based derivatives. The Exchanges first products were Event Linked Futures for US Tropical Wind which are modeled on Industry Loss Warranty reinsurance policies.

History

On 8th July 2010, Climate Exchange plc; including its Chicago Climate Futures Exchange (CCFE) and IFEX subsidiaries, was acquired by Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), which operates futures and over-the-counter markets.[1]
