Jaimi Goodfriend is co-founder of Trading Sciences, a technology firm that provides portfolio analytics for investment firms. Goodfriend, a certified financial analyst (CFA), is responsible for implementing the Trading Sciences technology in the firm's own trading systems. She also serves as an adjunct professor teaching hedge fund management at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and at DePaul University in Chicago.
Goodfriend served as senior equity analyst and Balyasny Asset Management and introduced the global basic materials to the firm, built out the firm's first emerging market effort and created forecasts on global commodity sectors.
She also worked for Citadel Investment Group as a senior equity analyst in the industrials equity division and later joined Citadel's Quantitative Alpha Generation Group, researching alternative, fundamentally-based investment strategies.
Goodfriend then served as manager of absolute return and fixed income at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, where she researched and evaluated the principal methodologies of successful hedge fund managers and strategies.
Goodfriend earned an Economics degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
