Jay Spencer is chief technology officer at Tradeweb. He has held that position since early 2008 after extensive experience in the securities industry overseeing electronic trading operations. Early in 2010 he outlined Tradweb's recent development strategy for Internet trading applications to Securities Industry News.
Immediately before joining Tradeweb, Spencer was the global chief information officer for interdealer broker Icap and served on its global executive management team. Prior to that he helped establish Icap's BrokerTec platform, allowing electronic trading of fixed income securities, where he worked closely with current Tradeweb CEO Lee Olesky, and became BrokerTec's founding chief technology officer. He has also worked at EJV Partners and Fidelity.
