Michael Phillips - Information Security Expert

Phillips has over 20 years of experience in operations management, business development and finance within Swiss Banking and the U.S. Federal Reserve System. He joined RCG in 2008 to provide oversight on various aspects of Operational Risk Management, including Enterprise Security, Business Contingency Planning, Project Management Office and Risk Technologies.
In his most recent role before joining RCG, Phillips was the owner of Luminant Group LLC, a security consulting firm specializing in information assurance program development, analysis of security governance and IT controls, where he served as an executive advisor to clients. In that capacity, Phillips previously served as the interim chief technology officer at Cassandra Capital Partners LLC.
He served as information security officer in the information technology division of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. In his role at the Federal Reserve, he chaired the IT Risk Management Committee that transformed the Information Security Program & Infrastructure Engineering by restructuring the Change Control and Database & Systems support functions. Previously, he was a consultant for Emerald Technology, where he developed Information Security service offerings and led projects to implement secure e-business solutions.
Before consulting, Phillips was an officer at UBS, a global financial firm. In his role as director, he provided management oversight for the development and integration of the Information Security Program throughout the Americas. At UBS, he also managed the international systems entegration function through several mergers and acquisitions and was an integral leader in the global deployment of the firm’s proprietary derivatives trading platform.
