The RTS Stock Exchange, established in 1995, was the first regulated stock market in Russia. The exchange trades a range of financial instruments from cash equities to commodity futures. The exchange is operated by the RTS Group which also includes the central counterparty, the settlement securities depository and the settlement house for rubles and foreign currencies. Key shareholders of the RTS Group include UBS, Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank.

The RTS Index has become a benchmark for the Russian securities industry and is based on the exchange's five most liquid and capitalized shares.
