Sam Gaer is CEO of Liquid Holdings Group, a provider of trade execution and back-office systems for active and institutional asset managers. [1] He joined the company in May 2012 after having served as chief information officer and executive vice president for business services at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority FINRA.

Background

Gaer was chairman and CEO of technology firm TGFN Holdings from 1999 until 2003, when NYMEX purchased the company's assets. Gaer remained with NYMEX for five years as CIO and executive vice president; he also spent a year as CEO of NYMEX Europe.

As CIO of FINRA, from November 2010 until May 2012, Gaer was in charge of data, information and technology strategy, and also supervised FINRA's Transparency Services division.[2]

Education

Gaer earned a BS from University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business in 1988.
