Adam Cooper
Adam Cooper is lawyer and hedge fund executive. He is the chief legal officer of Citadel. Cooper is a member of the National Futures Associations Board of Directors. Background[edit]At Citadel he oversees Citadel’s global legal, compliance, transaction management and regulatory affairs functions. He is also a member of Citadel’s Portfolio Committee. Prior to joining Citadel in 1999, he was a partner with the Chicago law firm of Katten Muchin & Zavis (now known as Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP) where he practiced for 12 years.[1] Cooper is a member of the Board of Directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as well as the Leadership Board of the Chamber’s Center for Capital Markets Competitiveness. He is also a member of the Financial Markets Working Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and the Buyside General Counsel Committee of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Cooper previously served two terms as chairman of the Managed Funds Association, the industry’s trade association. He has testified before the Senate Banking and the Senate Agriculture Committees, the House of Lords and the European Central Banking Supervision Committee, and he is a frequent speaker on industry matters. Cooper also serves on the Northwestern University School of Law Board and the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago Founders’ Board.
