Anthony Attia is the global head of derivatives & post trade at Euronext.[1] He is also chairman of the board of Euronext Clearing and is the vice president of FESE.

He also served as global head of primary markets & post trade from 2021 to 2023 and served as chairman of the board of Euronext Dublin.

He was previously the chief executive of Euronext Paris, starting in January of 2014. He was appointed to that role in a reorganization of the business and management team in preparation for a demerger from parent company the Intercontinental Exchange. His role was independent of the holding company for the first time.[2]

Attia was formerly senior vice-president and chief of staff to Dominique Cerutti, Euronext group chief executive.

He is a board member of LCH.Clearnet, EnterNext, and the French Capital Markets Association (Amafi).

Background[edit]

Attia served as chief of staff to the president and deputy CEO of NYSE Euronext from 2010 to 2013. In 2008, following the merger of NYSE and Euronext, he was appointed senior vice president in charge of designing and deploying the Universal Trading Platform.

In 2004, he served as executive director, head of operations for Euronext. He was responsible for market surveillance, the operational relationship with customers, and business development projects in Amsterdam, Brussels, Lisbon and Paris. In 2000 he was the program director for the Euronext integration, in charge of migrating the French, Belgian and Dutch exchanges to the Euronext Market Model and NSC trading system.[3]

Attia joined Société des bourses françaises in 1997.

Education[edit]

He holds an Engineering degree in computer science, applied mathematics and finance from the Institut d’Informatique d’Entreprise and also studied at INSEAD.
