Benjamin Foo
Benjamin Foo is a Singapore-based financial executive. He currently is a leadership coach. Formerly, he was head an executive vice president with SGX.[1] was appointed head of operations for the Singapore Exchange. Background[edit]Foo was appointed as a member of the SGX executive committee in 2009. He was also elected as an exchange member of Asia-Pacific Central Depositories Group (ACG) executive committee. He headed SGX operations from 2009 to 2013, running the securities, derivatives and OTC trading, clearing and settlement. He also handled depository and customer services. His work at SGX also included heading marketing, membership and direct trading access for over 2 years. He also headed derivatives strategy and product development at SGX for 2 years. Foo led the efforts behind the introduction of the SGX AsiaClear oil and freight clearing business in May 2006.[2] AT SGX, he headed functions like product marketing and managed relationships with securities and derivatives members and their overseas affiliates. Before joining SGX, Foo was general manager and director of Phillip GNI Futures Pte Ltd, a clearing member of Singapore Exchange Derivatives Trading Ltd, and also Phillip Trading Pte Ltd, a clearing member of the Singapore Commodity Exchange, from 1994 to 2001. He previously served as vice president for business development at the Singapore International Monetary Exchange (SIMEX), where he was responsible for research, product development and business development from 1988 to 1994.
