Benoit de Vitry is head of global markets - trading, Europe and head of commodities and emerging markets for Barclays Capital.  He is responsible for the trading and risk management activities for commodities, emerging markets and the quantitative analytics group. de Vitry is a member of Barclay Capital's Executive Committee. He also serves as vice chair of the Association for Financial Markets in Europe. 
de Vitry joined Barclays Capital in April 2000 as a managing director and head of commodities. Previously, he was at CIBC in New York where he was a managing director and head of commodities from 1996 to 2000. From 1993 to 1996, he was a director in global commodity derivatives at Merrill Lynch in London and New York. He began his career with Banque Paribas in 1987. 
de Vitry holds an MS from M.I.T. and a diplôme d’ingénieur de l’Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.
