Benoit de Vitry is head of global markets - trading, Europe and head of commodities and emerging markets for Barclays Capital. [1] He is responsible for the trading and risk management activities for commodities, emerging markets and the quantitative analytics group. de Vitry is a member of Barclay Capital's Executive Committee. He also serves as vice chair of the Association for Financial Markets in Europe. [2]

Background[edit]

de Vitry joined Barclays Capital in April 2000 as a managing director and head of commodities. Previously, he was at CIBC in New York where he was a managing director and head of commodities from 1996 to 2000. From 1993 to 1996, he was a director in global commodity derivatives at Merrill Lynch in London and New York. He began his career with Banque Paribas in 1987. [3]


From 2004 to 2008, he was a member of the board of directors of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association.[4]

de Vitry holds an MS from M.I.T. and a diplôme d’ingénieur de l’Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.
