Bette Smith is a senior associate with the Destra Consulting Group.
She held the position of director of the J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities at the University of Colorado Denver Business School from December 2012 – August 2013.[1]
She has traveled to more than 35 countries and speaks Russian.
Smith is also a member of Women In Listed Derivatives (WILD).
Background[edit]
Prior to her position at the J.P. Morgan Center for Commodities, Smith worked with independent software vendor (ISV) CQG since 2000 most recently as vice president of communications. Her earlier roles at CQG included director of leadership development and director of organizational learning. Prior to CQG, she was the director of the weekend college and extended learning programs at the Community College of Denver.[2]
Earlier in her career, Smith was employed by Concord Services International as a Russian interpreter, manager of their Moscow office, and as an international commercial representative, respectively.

Smith received her master’s degree in Social Science from the University of Colorado Denver and her bachelor's degree in Russian Studies from Bates College.
