Bill Marcus is managing director, head of North America at Blueprints.org, which he joined in February of 2016. He is also an advisory board member of WatershipBlue, a company that provides potable water to mobile platforms at sea.
He is also a founding partner of Only One Degree, LLC.
Background[edit]
Marcus was previously president of Evolution Trading Partners LLC, a global proprietary trading firm and funding source for new and established hedge fund managers. Prior to that, Marcus was head of sales, Americas at Newedge Group. He spent 10 years with the firm and had more than 25 years of experience in the industry.[1] He left the firm in October of 2010.
He is a member of the Milken Institute California Center Advisory Council and serves on the boards of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Gene Siskel Film Center.
Marcus served in a variety of senior positions at Newedge (which was formed in 2008 with the merger of Calyon Financial and Fimat) including head of North American business development and the Chicago sales manager at Calyon Financial. He joined Calyon Financial (fomerly known as Carr Futures) in 2000 where he worked as an institutional client manager.[2]
Prior to that, he worked as senior vice president at Sakura Dellsher Inc. From 1992 to 1994, Marcus worked at Bear Stearns & Co. as vice president for the Chicago financial futures sales group. In 1989, he worked at Discount Corporation of New York where he helped develop the firm's equity derivatives business.
From 1985 to 1989, he worked for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and served as head of the futures and options desk. In 1982, he established Marcus Securities.

Marcus received a bachelor's degree in speech, communications from Syracuse University and a bachelor's degree in law and public policy in 1982 from Syracuse University School of Management.
He earned his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1985.[3]
