Bjørn Sibbern is president of European markets at Nasdaq. He was promoted to the role in May 2019, from his previous position as executive vice president for global information services at Nasdaq. He is responsible for managing the trading, clearing and settlement and data for Nasdaq's operations in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and the Baltic countries. He will also expand Nasdaq's business across Europe.[1]
Background[edit]
Before taking on those roles, he served as senior vice president of global trading and market services and led the global commodity markets and broker services at Nasdaq Copenhagen. He joined Nasdaq in 2008 as president of OMX Nordic Exchange Copenhagen, replacing Jan Ovesen.[2]
Sibbern moved to New York in June of 2017 to become Nasdaq's executive vice president of global information services.[3]
He was previously president of E*Trade Bank in Denmark and was vice president of issuer services at the Nordic Exchange and head of trading and issuer services for the exchange in Copenhagen.
