Brian Z. Gelfand
Brian Gelfand is a Canada-based derivatives exchange executive. He most recently was the chief commercial officer for CDS and CDCC, the clearinghouses for Canadian securities and derivatives. He had also served ass vice president of institutional relations & market operations for the Montreal Exchange. He managed relationships with global exchange market participants, and was responsible for market access, connectivity, and market operations. He was appointed in August 2009 and left in 2019. Background[edit]Gelfand joined the Montreal Exchange in 2001. He was the vice president of corporate relations from 2005 to 2009, and the vice president of business development from 2005 to 2006. He was the director of the Derivatives Institute at the exchange from 2001 to 2004, during which time he founded an online and in-class learning centre on derivatives and risk management. Gelfand was a special advisor to the secretary general at the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) from 1996 to 2000. He began his career as an associate at the law firm of Lapointe Rosenstein in Montréal, and is amember of the Bars of Quebec, New York and Massachusetts.[1] Education[edit]
