CameronFIX is a commercial, Java framework designed for the handling of financial information messages conforming to the Financial Information Exchange protocol and to the FAST protocol. It is delivered as a FIX engine. It was developed by the global software firm CameronTec, part of the Orc Software group and distributed by CameronTec and its partners.

CameronFIX is the basis for broader FIX-focused offerings such as Catalys, the integrated FIX environment later released by CameronTec.

CameronFIX was first delivered as a set of Java library in 1997 which then became the core of a component-oriented infrastructure called the Universal Server. The CameronFIX infrastructure was then declined to provide a number of solutions from direct market access to market data dissemination and grew to be used by hundreds of financial firms and exchanges worldwide.

It was also adopted by independent software vendors (ISV) to FIX-enable their own solution, and CameronFIX continues to power buy-side order management systems such as Charles River Development, Fidessa LatentZero's Miverva and OpenLink's Finur.

The original editor of CameronFIX, Cameron Systems, was acquired by Orc Software in 2006 and became part of Orc's connectivity offering. CameronFIX is currently fully managed by CameronTec, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Orc Software that ensures CameronFIX benefits from a fully focused team of engineers, support and commercial staff worldwide.

Current versions[edit]

The most recent version of CameronFIX is CameronFIX 6.5, released in December 2010.
