Charles Whitman is founder and heads the management team at Whitman Capital Management, which he launched in 2013. Whitman also serves as senior portfolio manager for all of the firm's offerings and also oversees research, trading and business development.

Background[edit]

He has more than 30 years experience in the trading space and was formerly the co-founder and CEO of Infinium Capital Management, from 2003 to 2012. [1]

He is considered an authority on options trading and money management. He helped start Infinium to leverage the trading advantages of electronic platforms. During his time at Infinium, the firm grew from seven people on staff to more than 250, and annual revenues at the firm rose to $200 million by 2008, with an average over the last five years as CEO of $125 million.

Whitman became a member of the Chicago Board of Trade in 1992 and is also a member of CME Group, Chicago Board of Options Exchange, and Minneapolis Grain Exchange and used his experience in trading agriculture options to build Infinium.

He was also a partner in Blink Trading, which was sold to GETCO in November 2002.
