Christian Exshaw is managing director and head of global derivatives and distribution with CIBC World Markets Inc.[1] He leads the firm’s derivatives businesses comprising commodities, equities, structuring, and credit exposure management and co-heads the quantitative team. Exshaw is also responsible for CIBC’s cross–asset distribution teams that provide derivatives and cash sales of currencies, commodities, and fixed income products to corporate, retail, financial institution, and e-commerce clients.[2]

Background[edit]

Prior to joining CIBC in November 2008, Exshaw was managing director at Merrill Lynch in London responsible for the global foreign exchange and emerging market sales across cash and derivative products. He was also responsible for FX prime brokerage and e-commerce.

Before joining Merrill Lynch, Exshaw was managing director at Dresdner Kleinwort in London where he held a number of senior positions in sales, structuring, e-commerce, high-frequency trading, FX prime brokerage and emerging markets businesses.

Exshaw began his career in capital markets as a foreign exchange options trader and structurer.

Exshaw graduated from the Université de Toulouse-le-Mirail in France with a degree in economics and econometrics, and from the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises with a Master's of Science degree in Risk Management and Financial Instruments, and a Master's in finance.
