Christopher S. McGuire is a Managing Member and Chief Investment Officer at Phalanx Capital Management. He manages the trading of the Japanese and Asian portfolio.
Background[edit]
McGuire has an extensive background trading Asian markets. In his early industry days, he managed hedge fund sales for the convertible bond and equity divisions for Merrill Lynch in London, managed convertible bond sales for SBC Warburg-Tokyo and overnight relative value equity sales for BZW Securities. He also traded commodity options on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade.
McGuire more recently was in charge of trading and managing the Japanese convertible bond portfolio for Marin Capital Partners and led the Japanese and Asian relative value trading for Spear, Leeds & Kellogg division of Goldman Sachs.
Prior to launching Phalanx, he managed a Japanese multi-strategy portfolio for Daiwa Securities America. [1]
