Greg Medcraft
Greg Medcraft is chairman of the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) and International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). Medcraft was appointed for a five-year term as chairman of ASIC in May 2011. He began his role as chairman of IOSCO in March 2013. [1] Background[edit]Before serving as ASIC chairman, Medcraft served as an ASIC commissioner in February 2009. Prior to that, he was chief executive of the Australian Securitisation Forum. Medcraft helped co-found the American Securitization Forum in 2002, and was its chairman from 2005 to 2007. He returned to Australia in 2013 and took over chairmanship of IOSCO, and will hold the position until September 2014. [2] Medcraft has spent nearly 30 years in investment banking at Société Générale in Australia, Asia, Europe and the Americas.
