Hernan Arellano is a partner and the head of equities at Chilean broker IM Trust.
Arellano has worked in M&A, equities and bonds since 2001. He was a financial manager for a winery in Chile prior to joining IM Trust as the corporate finance manager in January 2007. He was later promoted to partner and head of equities there.
In an interview with John Lothian News in December 2011, Arellano described his career:
"My career has been focused mostly on corporate finance. I have been working in M&A and equities and bonds for 10 years. I was the financial manager for a winery in Chile. That is something that was a necessary step in my career. I got my MBA from Babson College in Boston, Mass. I got a finance degree from The Catholic University, a master’s degree. And then I have been the corporate finance vice president at IM Trust for four years, in charge of all of the international M&A’s. In the last year, I have been promoted as a partner of the company and tried to follow everything to do with equities and stay ahead of equities at IM Trust. And of course, I’m 25 years old.
