The International Petroleum Exchange (IPE) was a London-based major energy futures and options exchange founded in 1980 and acquired by the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) in 2001. In 2005, the exchange's name was changed to ICE Futures, and trade was shifted from an open outcry venue to an electronic trading platform.
