John G. Gaine
John G. Gaine was the president emeritus of the Managed Funds Association after serving as its president for 10 years. He served as the MFA's director of government relations and general counsel from 1993 to 1997. He passed away on June 25, 2022 at the age of 80. After stepping down from MFA, Gaine served as a special advisor to the Futures Industry Association (FIA) Board of Directors.[1] [2] In 2013, Gaine was inducted into the Futures Industry Association's Futures Hall of Fame, which was established in 2005 to commemorate outstanding contributions to the global futures and options community. [3] Background[edit]From 1981 to 1993, Gaine was in private practice specializing in commodities, and from 1977 to 1981, he was general counsel for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Education[edit]Gaine received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame in 1964 and his LL.B from Harvard University in 1967.
