Kathleen M. Cronin is a derivatives industry lawyer who serves as the senior managing director, general counsel and corporate secretary at CME Group.[1][2]

Background[edit]

Kathleen Cronin has served as managing director, general counsel and corporate secretary of CME Group since July 2007 when CME and the Chicago Board of Trade completed their merger. Previously she served under the same title for CME Holdings and for CME since August 2003 and as corporate secretary and acting general counsel from November 2002 through August 2003.

Prior to joining the exchange, Cronin was a corporate attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom from September 1989 through July 1995 and from April 1997 through November 2002. She also served as chief counsel/corporate finance for Sara Lee Corporation from August 1995 through March 1997.

Cronin also serves as secretary of the CME Foundation. [3]

Cronin earned a bachelor's degree in psychology, summa cum laude, from Boston College in 1985 and a JD degree, cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law in 1989.
