Larry Tabb is head of market structure research at Bloomberg Intelligence.[1]

He was previously an independent analyst and consultant at Tabb Advisors, a company he started in March of 2020 upon shutting down the TABB Group, which he led for 17 years. He founded the TABB Group in April 2003 and and was the CEO and then research chairman (2016). He shut the firm down in March 2020 because of the catastrophic impact of the novel coronavirus on the events business.[2]

He formulated the advisory firm's methodology of "first-person knowledge."

Tabb has been quoted by media outlets including in The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Associated Press, The New York Times, CNN, Bloomberg and CNBC. He's also been a featured speaker at major industry and business conferences throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia and Canada.[3]

Background[edit]

Before founding TABB Group, he founded and managed TowerGroup’s securities and investments research practice, providing insight and analysis across capital markets, investment management, retail brokerage, and wealth management sectors.

Prior to TowerGroup, Tabb managed business analysis for Lehman Brotherstrading services division. He began his career managing various fixed income operations for Citibank.[4]

Tabb was the original CEO of the TABB Group, but turned the role over to Anthony J. Perrotta, Jr. in 2017. Tabb took the title of research chairman at that time. In February 2018, TABB Group named Bruce Morris as CEO, replacing Perrotta, and Tabb resumed management responsibility for the research and consulting business.[5]
