Marcy Engel is a partner, managing director and general counsel for Eton Park Capital Management.
Engel is affiliated with Eton Park, in 2007 a $10-billion New York-based hedge fund manager and one of the largest hedge funds created in the last 15 years. In November 2007, the Wall Street Journal reported that Eton Park Capital Management had absorbed the smaller debt-oriented fund R6 Capital Management.
Engel was a former managing director at Salomon Brothers, where she advised sales and trading personnel on a wide range of legal issues related to fixed income, equity and derivatives transactions. She joined Salomon in 1987 after three years at Sullivan & Cromwell.
She has served as president of the FIA Law and Compliance Division and as a member of the board of the FIA and was active and chaired many Securities Industry Association committees as well. She also is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s and American Bar Association’s Committee on Regulation of Futures and Derivatives.
In 2006, Engel was inducted into the Futures Industry Association's Futures Hall of Fame, which was established in 2005 to commemorate outstanding contributions to the futures and options community.
Engel received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her JD degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
