She joined Phillip Capital in February of 2018. She serves as the chairman of the National Futures Association's board of directors and serves on the board of directors of the Futures Industry Association. She is the former president of Rosenthal Collins Group, an independent futures clearing firm. She stepped down from RCG on November 28, 2017. Background Before joining Rosenthal Collins Group in 1998 as senior vice president of business development, marketing and strategic planning, Downs was the chief financial officer of Downs Capital, a proprietary trading firm with operations at both the CBOT and CME. Prior to her futures career, she practiced law and spent several years in corporate finance. In 2000, she was promoted to executive vice president and spearheaded the firm's entry into electronic trading. She was named president of RCG in September 2007, responsible for the firm's global expansion strategy. During her tenure at RCG, Downs has also served as chief financial officer of Rosenthal Collins Equities and as a director of Rosenthal Collins Foreign Exchange Limited. In 2009, she was elected to the board of directors of the National Futures Association (NFA). She also serves on the NFA Compliance Consultative Committee. She has been a member of the FCM Committee of the NFA, the CME and the CBOT, a member of CME Group's Business Owners Industry Advisory Council and a board member of the Futures Industry Association (FIA). Education Downs received a B.B.A. in Finance, summa cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D. from Northwestern University's School of Law. She is also a certified public accountant.
