Michael Marks

Michael Marks is a former chairman of the New York Mercantile Exchange who played a leading role in the launch of energy futures. Marks resigned from NYMEX's board of directors in July 2005 after having been a member of the board since 2001.[1]

Marks was involved in a minority stake buyers battle over NYMEX in 2005 when the exchange was reported to have agreed to sell 10 percent of its stock to General Atlantic, a private equity firm.[2]
