Michael R. Splinter is a business and technology consultant who was elected chairman of Nasdaq’s Board on May 10, 2017.

Splinter served as executive chairman of the Board of Applied Materials, a Nasdaq-listed company, from 2009 to his retirement in 2015 and became CEO in 2003.

He is also an engineer and technologist and a 40-year veteran of the semiconductor industry. Before joining Applied Materials, he was an executive at Intel Corporation for 20 years.[1]
