The National Stock Exchange of Australia (NSX) is a stock exchange based in Newcastle, Australia. It was established in 1937 as the Newcastle Stock Exchange and after a dormant period, it was re-established in February 2000 and grew to become Australia’s second largest listing stock exchange. It is regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
About 110 companies were listed on NSX as of June 30, 2014.
NSX's largest shareholder, Financial and Energy Exchange (FEX), holds a 39 per cent stake in the exchange through two entities.
NSX merged with the Bendigo Stock Exchange in 2005.
