Patrik Edsparr is the former chief executive officer of Citadel Investment Group LLC's securities unit. He was asked to leave the firm seven months after Citadel founder Ken Griffin picked him for the position. He joined the firm in 2008 as global head of fixed income and head of the firm’s European business.[1][2]

Background[edit]

Edsparr joined Citadel from JPMorgan Chase, where he was a member of the executive committee and held a number of leadership roles, including the global head of rates, FX, securitized products, fixed-income, exotics and hybrids, propriety trading and principal investments. Prior to joining JPMorgan Chase in 1996, Edsparr was with Lehman Brothers in mortgage derivative strategies.[3]

Education[edit]

Edsparr received his master's of science in applied mathematics from The Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, an MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics, and a PhD in finance from MIT.
