Peng Zhao Occupation Chief Executive Officer Employer Citadel Securities Peng Zhao is the chief executive officer of Citadel Securities LLC, the Chicago trading company owned by Citadel Investments. He was named to that position on January 27, 2017, replacing Kevin Turner, who left the company. Zhao joined Citadel Investments in 2006 and rose to global head of market-making at Citadel Securities. In mid-2016 he became vice chairman and chief scientist of the overall firm. Background Education Zhao was born in Beijing and attended Peking University, where he earned a degree in applied mathematics before moving to California to attend the University of California at Berkeley.
