Rainforest Action Network (RAN) is a group that includes 43 staff members in San Francisco, CA and in Tokyo, Japan, plus thousands of volunteer scientists, teachers, parents, students and others. RAN uses hard-hitting markets campaigns to persuade multinational corporations to adapt environmentally sustainable policies.

Its campaigns attempt to bring pressure to bear from public opinion and consumers on American businesses that refuse to adopt responsible environmental policies. Its goals are to break America's oil and coal addictions, protect endangered forests, and promote human rights and sustainable finance.[1]
