Richard Bentley is the chief product and engineering officer of Adenza, a position he assumed in July 2021, following the merger of Calypso Technology with AxiomSL.[1]

Background[edit]

Bentley came to Adenza from Calypso Technology, where he was responsible for global product management, engineering and QA functions since 2019.[2]

Prior to Calypso Technology, he was chief product officer of ULLINK when it merged with Itiviti. He briefly served as interim CEO of Itiviti when Torben Munch retired at the end of 2018. [3] He resumed his chief product officer position when Rob Mackey was named CEO in March of 2019.[4]

Before joining ULLINK in 2014, Bentley served as vice president, financial services with Software AG and as vice president and general manager, capital markets with Progress Software. From 2000 to 2005, he was head of pre-sales and professional services at Apama. During this period, he led design and development of early versions of the Apama Event Modeler - Apama's graphical development environment. He also co-authored several successful patents on the technical innovations at Apama.[5]

Previous to Apama, Bentley was a research scientist with XRCE, the European sibling of Xerox. While there, he conducted research and development focused on document management and related technologies. [6]

After completion of his PhD, Bentley began his career as a research scientist with Gesellschaft fur Mathematik und Datenverarbeitung (now part of the Fraunhofer Institute) in Bonn.

Education[edit]

He holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Lancaster University. He also holds a PhD in computer science from Lancaster.
