Tim Bowler is president of ICE Mortgage Technology. He joined ICE in that role in October 2017. He was previously a managing director in the Financial Institutions Group at Goldman Sachs advising U.S. depository institutions.

Background[edit]

Before joining Goldman Sachs, Bowler was most recently counselor to Secretary Jacob Lew at the U.S. Treasury, responsible for advising the Secretary on matters related to housing finance reform and troubled municipalities including the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Prior to his role as counselor, he was acting assistant secretary for financial stability at Treasury. In his role, he was responsible for overseeing the implementation and wind down of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) and maximizing the return for taxpayers from the various investment programs that were launched under TARP. He also oversaw the continued implementation of TARP’s homeowner assistance programs.

Previously at Treasury, Bowler was the deputy assistant secretary for the Office of Capital Markets.

Before he joined Treasury he was a managing director in Goldman Sachs' Financial Institutions Group, after working at JPMorgan in various capital markets and risk management roles.[1]

Education[edit]

He is a graduate of the College of William and Mary, class of 1995.
