Chris McMahon is a Chicago-based financial journalist and marketing professional who serves as a senior marketing manager at EIS Group Ltd.

He is a former editor of the John Lothian Newsletter - Metals Edition and a former member of the MarketsWiki Development Team.

McMahon was previously a manager and analyst for Duck Creek Technologies. He has also served as a managing editor for Reverb.com

He was previously senior associate editor at Futures Magazine.[1] He began at Futures Magazine in February of 2005. His respective reporting beat included writing feature stories on the markets, news reporting and managing book and software reviews.

At Futures, McMahon wrote the monthly "Markets" feature, as well as "Hot Commodities," “Trading Places,” and “New for Traders.” He contributed to "Trendlines," and "International News," and was also Futures book review and online editor.

In the winter of 2004, McMahon was a Capital Hill correspondent and covered the 2004 midterm elections and other issues for the Times of Northwest Indiana. He also covered the beverage industry for TNWI and other Chicago newspapers.

For a decade he was a sales and marketing professional in the technology industry, where he worked for both large firms and start ups, and served as the business development manager for a software company in the Netherlands.

Prior to joining Futures, McMahon earned a Master of Science in journalism at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, where he concentrated on business reporting and new media production.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Michigan State University, where he studied contemporary American literature and creative writing, as well as philosophy and studio art.
