World Gold Trust Services, LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the World Gold Council.

Established in 2004, World Gold Trust Services sponsors the SPDR Gold Trust exchange traded fund (ETF), whose shares are traded as SPDR Gold Shares (“GLD”) on the New York Stock Exchange, as well as exchanges in Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Mexico.

The company pioneered the development of gold-backed exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the US. SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) is currently the largest gold ETF in the world.[1]
