Barry Tague

Barry Tague was a securities broker, trader and exchange leader. He twice served as chairman of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX). In 1979, he co-designed the world's first exchange-listed foreign currency option. Soon after that, the PHLX became the first exchange to trade options on foreign currencies.[1]

Barry Elwert Tague was born on June 17, 1938. He was a securities trader and actively served his community. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1959 to 1965.

He was a partner with E.J. Tague & Company, Philadelphia, 1959-1968 and then had his own firm, Barry E. Tague & Company, Philadelphia. He was an executive vice president and vice chairman of Raymond James from 1968 to 1976.

He served on the board of governors of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange from 1967 to 1977, then 1900 to 1992. He was vice chairman of the board of PHLX from 1963 to 1974.
