David Underwood is a Certified Public Accountant who currently serves as the chief audit executive of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE: ICE), overseeing the company's global audit program. In this capacity, he is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act across ICE's operations worldwide.[1][2][3]

Background[edit]

Underwood joined ICE in April 2007 upon the establishment of the internal audit department. Prior to his tenure at ICE, he held diverse roles in internal audit at Glenayre Technologies and BellSouth Corporation.

Underwood commenced his career in public accounting at Ernst & Young, LLP, where he primarily served clients in the real estate and manufacturing sectors in Birmingham, Alabama.

Underwood holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and real estate finance from the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
