Farrell Kramer is a New York-based public relations professional and former journalist who is the head of communications for the New York Stock Exchange. Kramer joined NYSE and was named to that position in February of 2019.[1][2]

Before joining NYSE, Kramer was executive vice president and head of financial services for North America at public relations firm Shandwich Weber for three years.

Background[edit]

After graduating from the University of Chicago with a degree in Far Eastern languages and civilizations, Kramer took a job in a Japan exchange and teaching program for one year teaching English. He also began work on a masters degree in journalism from Northwestern University.

Upon graduation, Kramer was hired by Investors Business Daily as a financial writer where he often contributed to page one stories that focused on a more analytical approach to financial markets coverage.

After three years, he moved to the Associated Press for six years as a national writer covering major investigative, political, and business and financial stories.

In 1999, Kramer moved to public relations and was hired by Finsbury as a senior vice president, focusing on corporate communications and investor relations.

In 2002, Kramer founded his own firm, Farrell Kramer Communications, which he grew for the next 10 and 1/2 years. He launched a podcast series in 2006 called "Talking Communications with Farrell Kramer."[3] His firm was known for blogging for corporate reputation and marketing and handled financial communications, corporate positioning, publicity, transactions, crisis communications, and media and presentation training.

In 2013, financially-focused public relations firms MBS Value Partners acquired Farrell Kramer Communications and Kramer joined MBS as a managing director.[4][5][6] After two and a half years at MBS, he moved to Shandwich Weber.

Kramer has his own blog at FarrellKramer.org, but moved his writing to Substack.[7]

Kramer holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Chicago in Far Eastern languages and civilizations. He also hols a masters of science degree from Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism.
