Joseph J. O'Neill is an independent consult to futures and spot commodity industries. He was previously the senior executive vice president at the New York Board of Trade before retiring in 2007.

Background[edit]

O'Neill began his career in 1970 working at the New York Cotton Exchange. He served as president and CEO of the exchange from 1984 until 1998. After the cotton exchange merged with the NYBOT in 1998, O'Neill served as senior vice president.

In 2007, NYBOT merged with the International Commercial Exchange and O'Neill became chairman of the ICE cotton committee.[1]

Education[edit]

O'Neill earned a bachelor of arts from Manhattan College in 1967. He earned an MBA from Adelphi University in 1980.[2]
