Mark Ryland is the chief operating officer of SWX Europe, a UK Recognised Investment Exchange located in London and supervised by the Financial Services Authority. He was named to the position on April 14, 2008.[1]
Background[edit]
Previous to joining SWX Europe, Ryland was global head of equities IT at HSBC where he led the replacement of HSBC’s equities front office trading systems globally.
Before HSBC, Ryland was a director at Merrill Lynch for three years where he was global co-head of cash equity systems renovation.[2]
Ryland has also held senior positions at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette - now part of Credit Suisse - and UBS.
