Peter Munk is the founder and chairman of the board of Barrick Gold Corporation.[1]
From March 27, 2008 to January 15, 2009, Munk was also the interim chief executive officer of Barrick. Prior to September 2006, he was also chairman of Trizec Properties, Inc., a real estate investment trust, and chairman and chief executive officer of Trizec Canada Inc., a real estate company.[2]

Munk is a member of the Canadian Business Hall of Fame and the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame, a recipient of the Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship, and a Companion of the Order of Canada.
Education[edit]
Munk graduated in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto in 1952.
