Elstone served as CEO and managing director of the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), from its formation in July 2006 until 2011.[3]
He was managing director and CEO of the Sydney Futures Exchange (which merged with the Australian stock exchange to form the Australian Securities Exchange) from 2000 to 2006.[4]
He was previously CFO of Pioneer International and Air New Zealand, and a non-executive director of National Australia Bank.
