Robert Elstone is former CEO and managing director of the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), formed in July 2006 from the merger of the Australian Stock Exchange and the Sydney Futures Exchange. [1]
Background[edit]
Elstone formerly headed the SFE from May 2000, and was appointed to his current position after institutional shareholders backed his candidacy over Tony D'Aloisio, the stock exchange CEO.[2]
He was previously CFO of Pioneer International and Air New Zealand, and a non-executive director of National Australia Bank.
