Satish Nandapurkar is founding principal and chief risk officer at Trevinci Capital Partners, the Chicago-based asset management affiliate of America’s largest crop insurance broker, Silveus Insurance Group.[1] In July 2014, upon the merger of Trevinci and Typhon Capital Management, he became chief risk officer of Typhon, as well as a member of the firm's investment and risk committees.[2]

Background[edit]

Nandapurkar was previously the president and chief executive officer of the Chicago Climate Exchange.[3][4] He was named president on Sept. 8, 2008 and given the added title of CEO on June 18, 2009.[5]

Before that, he was the CEO of the US Futures Exchange[6][7] and a board member of the company, which was known as Eurex US before its acquisition by Man Group in October 2006. In January 2008, he stepped down from the position.

In 2008, ELX considered Nandapurkar for CEO of their planned exchange; however, he removed himself from consideration.[8]

Nandapurkar joined Eurex US as CEO in February 2004 from Chicago Mercantile Exchange, where he was a managing director and head of products and services.[9] He was recruited to the CME as managing director e-Business in March 2000 by its then-CEO, James McNulty,[10] a former colleague at O’Connor & Associates, the Chicago-based options trading firm.

Prior to joining the CME, he was head of strategic solutions for OptiMark Technologies (1999-2000); managing director and global head of foreign exchange options at Bank of America (1997-1999);[11] managing director and head of structured equity products trading at Deutsche Bank Morgan Grenfell (1996-1997); and managing director and global head of exotic options at Swiss Bank Corporation (1994-1996).

Nandapurkar started his financial services career as a floor trader for O'Connor & Associates in 1988, after serving four years in the U.S. Air Force.

Education[edit]

He holds a master's degree in economics and finance from Boston University, and a bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
