Tan Boon Gin is a Singapore based lawyer, prosecutor, judge and exchange executive who currently serves as the chief regulatory officer of SGX.[1]

Background[edit]

Before assuming the chief regulatory officer position at SGX, Gi was director of the commercial affairs department.

Also, Gin was previously a Justices’ Law Clerk at Singapore’s Supreme Court and a deputy public Prosecutor at the attorney-general's chambers, where he specialized in corruption and white-collar crime. He later practices law Sullivan & Cromwell in New York. .

He became a district judge in Singapore's subordinate courts, and later joined the Monetary Authority of Singapore. There he was director of enforcement and director of corporate finance divisions. He was also executive director of the investment intermediaries department.

Education[edit]

He holds degrees from the University of Cambridge and Harvard Law School.
