Tom Healy was a long-time exchange executive who led the Irish Stock Exchange for 20 years and then later retired as CEO of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) in 2010. He died in April of 2017.[1]

Healy was also a member of the Securities Institute (UK).[2]

Background[edit]

Healy was chief executive of the Irish Stock Exchange from February 1987 to June 2007.[3] He reportedly received a €520,000 "termination payment" when he resigned from the position.[4]

He was credited with rescuing the Irish Stock Exchange from extinction and transforming it into a leading global destination for international listed funds and debt securities.

He also acted as a consultant to the World Bank, the European Union and the United States Agency for International Development, and was involved with the World Federation of Exchanges and the Federation of European Securities Exchanges.

Education[edit]

Healy earned a degree in economics from Trinity College Dublin.
