Yusli bin Mohamed Yusoff is CEO of Bursa Malaysia, operator of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange and its associated derivatives and clearing operations. He was appointed to the post by the Malaysian finance minister on March 1, 2004, and elected as an executive director on April 10, 2004.
Background[edit]
Prior to Bursa Malaysia, he was the chief executive director of CIMB Securities (2000-2004), and served as chairman of the Association of Stockbroking Companies Malaysia from 2003-2004.
He started his career with accountants Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co in London in 1982 before joining Hugin Sweda in 1986, where he was chief accountant until 1990. He returned to Malaysia and held senior positions at industrial and financial groups including Faber Group, TIME Engineering Renong, Shahpadu Corporation, Sime Merchant Bankers, Intria and Metacorp [1].
Education[edit]
He graduated with a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Essex (United Kingdom) in 1981, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.
